An investigation is underway after a car fell off a small ferry and into the water between Laval and Île-Bizard on Wednesday.

A 67-year-old man managed to escape his sinking vehicle and was later treated for nervous shock in hospital, according to multiple media reports.

A ferry employee reportedly jumped into the water of the Rivière des Prairies to rescue the man.
