A vehicle found Sunday in the Mille-Îles River in Deux-Montagnes could be linked to a missing person case in Laval, according to the Lac des Deux-Montagnes Police.

At around 7:15 a.m., the municipal police force received a call from a man belonging to the diving group “Exploring with a Mission” about a vehicle found in the Mille-Îles River near Grand-Moulin Crescent in Deux-Montagnes.

A security perimeter was set up as soon as the police arrived on the scene.

They are attempting to validate some of the information obtained by the divers who made the discovery. “The divers from the “Exploring with a Mission” group will be met by investigators and an examination of the vehicle and its contents will be carried out once it has been removed from the Mille-Îles River in order to confirm the information obtained,” wrote the Lac des Deux-Montagnes Police in a press release.

“The assistance of Sûreté du Québec divers was requested on site, as certain information leads us to believe that the vehicle could be linked to a missing persons case in Laval,” the police force added.
