An RCMP cruiser and an SUV collided in Surrey on Sunday night, sending one police officer and three others to hospital.
According to the Surrey Police Service, the crash happened just before 8:30 p.m. at 176 Street and 64 Avenue.
The SPS says the RCMP vehicle was “responding with lights/sirens to an emergency” when the SUV and cruiser hit each other.
“The RCMP officer was transported to hospital with unknown minor injuries, and the three occupants of the SUV were taken to hospital as a precaution,” SPS Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton told 1130 NewsRadio.
The intersection was closed in all four directions while police were on scene investigating. The intersection has since reopened to traffic.
The SPS says an active investigation into the circumstances of the crash continues.
