Police recovered two vehicles on Monday in the Mille-Îles River, including that of Robert St-Louis, missing since 1988, in addition to locating up to eight others in the same area.
Police pulled the Jeep Cherokee Chief from the water that belonged to St-Louis 37 years ago at around 7 p.m. on Monday. They confirm that human remains were found inside the vehicle.
St-Louis’s family had asked the group, ‘Exploring with a Mission,’ to help them in their search.
The group of amateur YouTubers from the United States and Australia found the vehicle on Saturday, after less than an hour of searching in the water. They are also behind the discovery of the vehicle and the body of Yvon Guévin in the Mauricie 11 days ago. The latter had been missing since 2014.

The nautical search operation will continue over the next few days in this particularly hollow sector of the river.
Lac des Deux-Montagnes police say that the divers saw between nine and 10 vehicles in the same area of the river, and they will now try to determine if these vehicles are linked to any other missing persons or murder cases that are under investigation.
Police were able to identify St-Louis’ car based on the model of the vehicle found, its serial number and licence plate.
St-Louis had been missing since June 1988, when he left his home and never gave any sign of life to his wife and five children. He was 42 years old at the time.
