“Raging Wildfire Escalates North of Mission, Now ‘Out of Control,’ Says BCWS”

The City of Mission says a small wildfire broke out approximately 20 kilometres to the north on Mount Crickmer Wednesday.

In a post on social media, the city says the fire is currently 90 square metres in size.

It says a four-person BC Wildfire Service crew is working to put out the flames.

The service lists the fire as burning ‘out of control.’

Its suspected to have been caused by lightning.

There are currently 68 active wildfires in B.C., three of which started in the last 24 hours.
