Three women in their early 20s have been arrested after an alleged stabbing at Lonsdale Quay early Saturday morning, the North Vancouver RCMP says.
Police were called to the area shortly before 3 a.m. after receiving reports of a “distraught” woman near the bus loop.
When they arrived, they found a woman with injuries “consistent with being assaulted with an edged weapon.”
They then found two more women in the area, one of whom had similar injuries.
The three women, who had allegedly been involved in a dispute, were taken into police custody.
Two of the women were taken with injuries “ranging from minor to serious.”
“As the investigation is in its very early stages, there are a lot of unanswered questions that police are seeking answers for,” said Corp. Mansoor Sahak.
“What we do know is that there was a dispute between the parties, who were known to each other, before the alleged assault occurred.”
Police say the incident was isolated and there is no risk to the public.
