The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is investigating an incident after a body was discovered inside a burning vehicle on Sunday in Popkum.
According to Agassiz RCMP, officers responded to reports of a car fire on Cheam Road around 11:35 p.m.
Upon arrival, emergency responders located a deceased individual within the vehicle. Police say they have reason to believe the death is criminal in nature.
IHIT is now leading the investigation, working together with Agassiz RCMP and Chilliwack RCMP to gather evidence.

Authorities are urging anyone with dashcam footage from the vicinity of Cheam Road and Bridal Falls Road to contact investigators immediately.
