Their collective agreement expired on April 1, 2023. An agreement in principle between the two parties was reached on July 23.

According to a union statement released Monday, the agreement includes wage increases totaling 17.4 per cent over five years, retroactive to April 1, 2023.

The union is also pleased to have been able to obtain a complete revaluation of inconvenience and responsibility bonuses and accelerated advancement in salary scales.

“Many of the negotiated elements will promote a much better work-life balance for our members,” said Chrystine Montplaisir, union advisor.

“This is a priority for us, as is staff retention, which should improve thanks to the gains made. Currently, the turnover rate is high. In addition, the salary increases obtained will allow employees to maintain their purchasing power.”
