The Vancouver Pride Society (VPS), Mayor Ken Sim, and others helped kick off Vancouver Pride Week 2025 on Monday.
The Vancouver Pride Parade is one of the largest parades in North America, drawing thousands of people to the city from across Canada and the U.S.
For the first time since before the COVID-19 pandemic, the Davie Village Festival will make a comeback.
This year’s parade route will start at Concord Pacific Plaza in Olympic Village and end at Davie Village, where the festival will fill the streets with drag performers, DJs, and other entertainers.
Earlier this month, organizers revealed that corporate sponsorships for the parade were down nearly $400,000 from the previous year.

The rising cost of public safety and security, along with high fees from the city, is straining its budget, the VPS says.
VPS launched the week of festivities at noon with the reading of the Pride Week proclamation and the raising of the Transgender flag and Progress Pride flag on the north lawn of City Hall.
The parade is scheduled for Sunday, August 3, from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
