The Squamish RCMP says a person has died after falling into a waterfall in the Squamish Valley.
Mounties were called out to Crooked Falls, located along the popular Sigurd Creek Trail in Upper Squamish, Thursday evening.
Search and rescue crews found the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, but weren’t able to recover the hiker’s remains.
“The following morning on August 1, 2025, Squamish SAR returned and recovered the hiker,” police explained.
The RCMP says the BC Coroners Service is working to determine the cause of death.
The news comes less than a week since a 19-year-old man fell to his presumed death in Coquihalla Canyon Provincial Park.
