The Ridge Meadows RCMP says one man is dead after a shooting on Wednesday.
According to police, at 12:22 a.m., officers responded to a call of a shooting near 246 Street and 124 Avenue in Maple Ridge.
Upon arrival, the police said they found an “unresponsive victim with apparent gunshot wounds inside a vehicle.”
The person did not survive despite the administration of life-saving efforts.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is on scene to conduct the investigation in cooperation with the Ridge Meadows RCMP.
The roads around the scene are closed off to traffic, and police recommend avoiding the area.
The investigation is ongoing.
The IHIT is asking anyone who has details, dashcam footage, or CCTV recordings from the locations concerning this case to get in touch with the IHIT to contribute to their investigation.
