The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) is currently looking into a tragic incident where a pedestrian was struck by a Blacktop Taxi driver in downtown Vancouver on Friday night. Sadly, the 55-year-old man, who was hit at the intersection of Smithe and Cambie just past 10 p.m., did not survive his injuries despite being rushed to the hospital.
While the taxi driver sustained minor injuries in the collision and stayed at the scene, the VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit is now actively working to piece together the events leading up to this devastating crash.
