A tragic incident occurred in Roxton Pond as an 18-year-old motorcyclist lost his life in a collision with a car after disregarding a stop sign on Saturday evening.
The fatal accident took place at approximately 11 p.m. near the intersection of Route 139 and 3rd Rang, as detailed by Élizabeth Marquis-Guy, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
Initial findings suggest that the young motorcyclist failed to halt at the mandatory stop before heading across the intersection, leading to a collision with a car. Sadly, the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The driver of the car, a woman in her twenties, sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries and was promptly taken to a hospital for medical care.
An expert police officer specializing in accident investigations was present at the scene to conduct an analysis, with both vehicles being confiscated for forensic evaluation. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
