Alouettes’ Quarterback Curse Strikes Again: Another Injury Sidelines Key Player

The Montreal Alouettes face yet another quarterback shuffle as Caleb Evans is ruled out for the season due to a right ACL tear. This setback marks the fourth change in starting QB for the team in just 11 games.

During a game against the B.C. Lions, Evans suffered the injury after a sack by Sione Teheuma and was seen leaving the field with crutches and a bandaged knee. As a result, James Morgan, a former NFL player, is set to take the reins as the starting quarterback for the upcoming matchup against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

The Alouettes have faced a string of quarterback injuries this season, with both Davis Alexander and McLeod Bethel-Thompson sidelined. However, there is optimism as Alexander was spotted participating in drills and could potentially return in early September after the team’s upcoming bye week.

In response to the quarterback challenges, the Alouettes have signed experienced QBs Shea Patterson and Cameron Dukes to bolster their lineup.

Despite the quarterback rotation, the Alouettes have shown a clear difference in performance based on their starting QB, with a perfect 4-0 record with Alexander leading the team and a 1-5 record with other quarterbacks at the helm.
