Late-night tremor rattles Vancouver Island’s southern shore.
According to Earthquakes Canada, a mild 3.6-magnitude earthquake rattled an area approximately 18 kilometers southeast of Port Renfrew.
The seismic activity occurred a little after 7:15 p.m. and was faintly noticeable in the southern part of Vancouver Island.
Initially thought to be a 4.1-magnitude occurrence, the quake’s intensity was adjusted twice as the night progressed.
Despite the tremor, there have been no reports of any damage, and Earthquakes Canada reassures that no significant impact is anticipated.
