A Montreal Resident Accused of Making Death Threats Released on Conditions
A Montreal man has been accused of making threats against a Jewish man and others, leading to his recent release from custody under specific conditions.
According to reports, 28-year-old Tamrabet Sid Ali is alleged to have threatened bodily harm to a man in Montreal between August 10-15. Footage of the incident, circulated on social media, captured Ali making threatening remarks and using offensive language towards the victim, including threats of violence.
Additional videos, including one shared by the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs, show further concerning interactions involving Ali and other individuals on separate occasions.
In another incident on August 9, Ali is said to have been involved in a similar threatening situation with two other victims. The charges against him also include allegations of criminal harassment towards a woman and her family, causing them to fear for their safety.
Despite being released from custody, Ali must adhere to specific conditions, including staying away from and refraining from contacting the individuals he is accused of harassing.
The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs expressed satisfaction with the swift arrest, emphasizing their ongoing collaboration with security partners to address such incidents effectively.
