Authorities on Vancouver Island conducted roadside checks for a highly anticipated Nickelback concert, leading to 142 alcohol screenings and apprehending 18 suspected drunk drivers.
The BC Highway Patrol revealed that besides this major outcome, 54 other various violation tickets were issued following the screenings in Lake Cowichan, B.C., before the rock band’s performance on August 9.
Among the repercussions, 13 drivers faced immediate 90-day driving bans, four were subjected to three-day prohibitions, and one received a 24-hour suspension.
