Over the weekend in East Vancouver, a man was apprehended and accused of arson in relation to three separate fires.
The incident unfolded when police were alerted to a fire near the intersection of Victoria Drive and East 1st Avenue on Sunday evening. The flames had engulfed several hedges and a fence, but swift action from the property owner helped extinguish the blaze before it could escalate.
Shortly after, firefighters informed authorities of two additional fires in the vicinity. Following swift investigative efforts, law enforcement successfully apprehended a suspect who now faces three arson charges.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported from any of the fires.
