She’s a fearless Montreal model redefining what it means to be a beauty icon.
CityNews first introduced you to Sara Levitt back in 2024 and this past August she broke new ground as the first contestant to compete in Miss Universe Canada while wearing an ostomy bag — and she didn’t just participate, she soared into the Top 15.
While she’s continuing to inspire audiences, the 30-year-old even recently made an appearance on the show Match Game — taking home the grand prize of $25,000 USD.
She’s proud that her heartfelt advocacy is helping to empower others to embrace their own unique stories.
“It was just truly one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever done in my life,” Levitt explained.
The confidence she radiates didn’t come overnight.
Diagnosed with colitis at just three years old, Levitt spent much of her childhood with hospital visits and was later diagnosed with Crohn’s disease.
At 13, emergency surgery was needed, leaving her with a permanent ostomy bag — she nicknamed her’s LIV – a medical device that collects stool through an opening in her abdomen.

Through posting her story on social media less than two years ago, she transformed her experience into a source of strength.
Her life-saving ostomy bag was front and center amongst the 70 other delegates at this year’s Miss Universe Canada pageant in Windsor, Ontario.

This outfit, designed by students from design graduates at Montreal’s LaSalle College, and for her humanitarian project, she raised funds for the Canadian Mental Health Association.
“To be able to stand confidently in a room with people that I literally had never met and so naturally to share my story and be so proud of it when, you know, years ago, it was the thing that I hid the most,” said Levitt.

And if her summer of 2025 couldn’t get any more extraordinary, Levitt capped it off with that victory on Match Game, filmed in Montreal.
“I was on a panel with Mr. Martin Short and some of the other celebrities that were on it,” she explained, smiling. “Selena Gomez, Cara Delvin, Lamorne Morris, so, so many and it was truly such a crazy experience.”

Her quick-thinking ultimately secured her win, proving that nothing can stand in the way of her unstoppable spirit.
“Really no differences, chronic illness, visible difference,” she said. “Will hold you back from achieving your dreams.”
