Fire crews were busy Saturday evening after a blaze broke out at a structure in New Westminster.
The New West Police Department posted on X shortly after 8:30 p.m., saying the roads around 8th Street and 4th Avenue were closed as firefighters attacked the blaze.
Be advised of road closures around 8th St and 4th Ave as we assist New West Fire with a structure fire.. roads in the area expected to be blocked for some time #newwest
Pictures on social media show the structure to be an apartment building.
Police didn’t have an estimated time of reopening for the streets around the structure fire.
