Body found after reported drowning in B.C. lake

Search and rescue crews say a body was found in Kamloops Lake over the weekend after a reported drowning.

Kamloops Search and Rescue (KSAR) says BC Emergency Health Services tasked a team to Bruker Marina for reports of a potential drowning Saturday evening.

A swimmer reportedly made their way to a dock near the marina but did not reach it.

“Using an underwater drone, also known as a Remotely Operated Vehicle, and with the assistance of Central Okanagan Search & Rescue the body was located by SAR on the lake floor that night at 11:00 p.m.” said a post by KSAR on social media.

While the incident is being called a potential drowning, crews are still investigating.

The search team offered condolences to the victim’s family, saying it recognizes the profound sorrow and loss that comes with such a tragedy.
