The Sea to Sky Highway was temporarily closed Sunday night after two motorcyclists crashed.
The West Vancouver Police Department says officers were called to the highway’s southbound lanes near Horseshoe Bay Drive around 7 p.m.
“Two motorcyclists travelling together in the same lane collided, causing one of the riders to lose control and leave the roadway before coming into contact with the rock wall,” said police Monday.
Paramedics reportedly performed life-sustaining measures until a woman was airlifted to hospital in critical condition.
The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) was on scene investigating over night, but police are still seeking witnesses.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant dashcam footage is asked to call the West Vancouver Police Department at 604-925-7300 and quote file # 25-8927.
Drive BC says the southbound lanes reopened around 2 a.m. Monday.
