Toronto police have pinpointed four individuals involved in a series of distraction thefts at ATMs across the city and are seeking to identify a fifth suspect.
Authorities have determined that between October 9, 2024, and February 8, 2025, a total of five distraction thefts and fraudulent activities occurred at various ATM locations within Toronto.
The modus operandi of the suspects involved approaching elderly individuals while they were conducting transactions at ATMs. Through various means of distraction, the suspects managed to steal the victims’ bank cards and subsequently used them to withdraw funds.
The four identified suspects are Silvia Piperea, aged 46 with no fixed address, Silviu Florian, aged 37 from Toronto, Clementa Paraschiv, aged 33 from Toronto, and Constantin Paraschiv, aged 35 with no fixed address.
The fifth suspect, yet to be identified, is described as a male aged between 35 and 50, standing between five foot eight and five foot ten, with a medium build, dark hair, and a beard.
All suspects are currently wanted on multiple charges including theft under $5,000, theft exceeding $5,000, the use of credit cards obtained through criminal means, and conspiracy to commit indictable offenses.
