Two individuals tragically lost their lives in a collision that occurred on Wednesday afternoon on Highway 30 in Boucherville, situated on Montreal’s South Shore. Additionally, four others sustained injuries in the incident, though their conditions are reported to be stable and not life-threatening.
The collision, involving multiple vehicles and a heavy truck, took place at kilometer 82 of Highway 30, prompting the swift response of emergency services.
According to spokesperson Élizabeth Marquis-Guy of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), preliminary investigations suggest that the heavy truck was unable to stop in time as traffic slowed down, leading to the unfortunate incident.
In light of the collision, Highway 30 has been entirely shut down to facilitate a thorough examination of the accident site by investigators.
