Tragedy struck in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville when a pedestrian was fatally hit by a train on Thursday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. along a stretch of the railway tracks near the intersection of Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier and Seigneurial west boulevards.
Authorities from the Longueuil Police (SPAL) confirmed that the victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, succumbed to the accident at the scene.
Maude Surprenant, a spokesperson for SPAL, advised the public to avoid the area due to disruptions in westbound traffic on Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier Boulevard. She further mentioned that all railway operations have been suspended until further notice.
