The incident took place late Thursday night in an outdoor parking lot near Dupré and Saint-Paul streets. Multiple 911 calls reported the blazing pickup truck, which was already being extinguished by the Montreal Fire Department upon police arrival.
SPVM spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils confirmed the vehicle as a total loss due to the fire. Fortunately, no other property was damaged in the incident. Evidence of incendiary material found at the scene suggests the fire was intentionally set, indicating a possible case of arson. As of now, no suspects have been apprehended.
