A security guard was stabbed in the early hours of Friday morning while stepping in to stop a scuffle at a private event in Toronto’s west end.
The incident unfolded shortly before 1 a.m. close to Albion Road and Highway 27 in Rexdale, where law enforcement was called in response to a disturbance at a banquet hall.
According to authorities speaking to CityNews, a brawl erupted during a private gathering, resulting in a man in his 40s—who was working as a security guard—getting hurt as he tried to intervene.
The injured individual was taken to the hospital with minor wounds and is anticipated to make a full recovery.
At the location, two men in their 20s were apprehended. At this point, it remains unclear if charges will be pressed against the duo. Investigators are still piecing together the events that led to the initial confrontation.
