With August coming to a scorching end in Metro Vancouver, 1130 NewsRadio Meteorologist Carl Lam predicts that the heatwave is not ready to let up just yet.
Looking ahead to September, Lam foresees temperatures remaining higher than usual. This means that students returning to school can expect warm weather both in and out of the classroom.
Typically, this time of year sees temperatures around 20 degrees, but Vancouverites can anticipate even hotter days in the coming week.
Coastal areas are likely to experience temperatures in the low 20s, while cities like Maple Ridge, Burnaby, and New Westminster are gearing up for highs in the upper 20s.
In August, the majority of days witnessed temperatures surpassing 20 degrees, leading to an exceptionally dry month due to the intense heat.
While there are hopes for increased moisture in September, Lam suggests that this upcoming week will continue to be dry, sunny, and warmer than average.
