Tragic Outcome After Multi-Vehicle Crash on QEW in Burlington
A tragic incident unfolded on the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) in Burlington, as a 40-year-old man from Toronto lost his life in a three-vehicle collision on Sunday evening. Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) confirmed the unfortunate outcome of the accident that took place around 6:45 p.m. on the eastbound lanes of the QEW near Walkers Line.
The collision was reportedly caused by a suspected medical emergency affecting one of the drivers, as stated by the OPP’s Highway Safety Division. Emergency response teams quickly arrived at the scene, rushing the man, who was the sole occupant of his vehicle, to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Tragically, he was later pronounced deceased.
Fortunately, the occupants of the other two vehicles involved in the crash emerged unharmed and cooperated with authorities as the investigation unfolded. Following the collision, the police took necessary measures by closing the highway and several ramps in the vicinity for around two hours to facilitate cleanup and conduct a thorough investigation.
