Durham Regional Police are on the hunt for individuals linked to the bold theft of an ATM from a bank in Whitby, sparking intrigue in the community.
The daring incident unfolded at the Bank of Montreal on 5530 Baldwin Street South, triggering an alarm call to authorities on the early morning of Sept. 2 at approximately 3:20 a.m.
According to police, the culprits employed an excavator to forcefully gain entry into the bank by shattering the front entrance. Once inside, they swiftly made off with an ATM before making a quick escape in a dark-colored getaway vehicle.
In a bid to crack the case, investigators urge anyone in possession of information or video recordings from the vicinity to promptly reach out to the police.
