The Official Opposition has urged for an independent firm to supervise the operations of the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ).
Provincial Liberal Leader Pablo Rodriguez expressed concerns about the ability of the CAQ government to effectively oversee the SAAQ and manage public funds.
During a press conference at Parliament on Tuesday morning, Rodriguez diverged from his Transport critic, Monsef Derraji, who had previously called for government oversight of the SAAQ. Rodriguez now advocates for external supervision.
The PLQ disclosed ongoing deliberations within the parliamentary wing regarding the necessary oversight and operational mechanisms for the SAAQ.
In the midst of an inquiry led by Judge Denis Gallant investigating the SAAQclic digital debacle, the state-owned agency’s technological challenges have been under scrutiny for weeks.
