A 12-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a shooting that took place in Markham last month.
The incident occurred at the intersection of McCowan Road and 14th Avenue at approximately 5:20 p.m. on August 14, as reported by the York Regional Police.
Authorities discovered a man at the scene with gunshot wounds, who was subsequently transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Following investigations, on Tuesday, a 12-year-old boy hailing from Toronto was apprehended. He has been charged with attempted murder, firing a firearm with intent, possessing stolen property, and having unauthorized possession of a firearm.
It was revealed that at the time of the shooting, the boy was under release orders for other violent offenses. Consequently, he is also facing charges for failing to comply with his release conditions.
