The Ontario Provincial Police has reported several closures on Highway 401 following a series of collisions on Wednesday afternoon.
One of the closures is in the westbound direction near Townline Road in Port Hope. Another closure affects the eastbound lanes at 401 East of Highway 412 near Whitby.
Authorities are currently investigating an incident on the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 near Salem Road in Ajax, resulting in the closure of all lanes in that area.
As rush hour persists, the police are urging drivers to steer clear of these sections of the highway to prevent further traffic congestion and delays.
