Montreal Speed Demon Slapped With $3,330 Fine for Blazing at 250 km/h on Decarie Expressway

A young man in Montreal faced serious consequences after being caught driving at an incredibly high speed of 250 km/h on Highway 15. The 26-year-old received a hefty $3,330 fine and accumulated over 40 demerit points as a result of his reckless behavior.

The incident occurred at 5:00 a.m. on August 31, when officers from the Montreal highway control station intercepted the vehicle speeding at a staggering 180 km/h above the designated limit on the Decarie Expressway, near Edouard-Montpetit Blvd.

According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the driver was traveling in an area with a speed limit of 70 km/h, emphasizing the extreme risk posed by such excessive speeding.

As a consequence of his actions, the driver had his license suspended for a week and accrued a substantial total of 42 demerit points, highlighting the severity of the offense.

The SQ underscored the dangers of speeding, citing it as a major contributor to fatal accidents on Quebec’s roadways, urging all drivers to prioritize safety and adhere to speed limits diligently.
