Tragic Stabbing Rampage in Hollow Water First Nation Leaves 2 Dead, Including Attacker, and 6 Injured: RCMP Reports

A tragic incident unfolded in Hollow Water First Nation on Thursday morning, resulting in two fatalities, including the suspect, and injuries to six others in a mass stabbing.

Emergency responders, including Mounties from various detachments, swiftly arrived at the First Nation community located around 200 km northeast of Winnipeg following reports of multiple people being stabbed.

Swift action by law enforcement prevented further harm in what has been described as a “senseless act of violence.”

Authorities have confirmed that six individuals were hospitalized, with two victims airlifted to Winnipeg and the remainder taken by ground ambulance. Sadly, one person lost their life during the attack.

The incident prompted a code orange in Winnipeg due to the sudden surge in patients, although it was later lifted.

While details surrounding the suspect’s demise remain unconfirmed, RCMP have disclosed that the individual responsible for the violence is deceased.

In response to the tragedy, Provincial Road 304 has been shut down in both directions south of Black River First Nation.

Hollow Water First Nation issued a statement expressing solidarity with affected families and the wider community, assuring residents that they are collaborating with law enforcement agencies in addressing the situation. Support teams from SCO and SERDC have been mobilized to provide assistance.

An ongoing investigation is underway, with updates expected from the RCMP later on Thursday.
