“Transition Montréal Ignites Bold Campaign: Vows to Champion the Fight for the City’s Future!”

Voters are gearing up for the municipal election on Nov. 2, and Transition Montréal is set to leave its mark with a fresh campaign slogan.

During a lively press conference outside City Hall, party leader and mayoral candidate Craig Sauvé introduced the slogan “Avec courage pour Montréal.” Emphasizing the significance of “courage,” Sauvé highlighted the need for bold action amidst the various challenges the city is currently confronting.

Addressing pressing issues such as homelessness, housing, economy, and the environment, Sauvé stressed the importance of proactive solutions. He underscored Montreal’s pivotal role as both the economic and cultural hub of Quebec, expressing a desire for greater attention to the city’s needs from the provincial government.

Transition Montréal’s campaign is centered on positivity, fostering a sense of encouragement and passion rather than hostility. Sauvé pledged to advocate for increased respect from the provincial authorities, positioning his party as the choice of resilient and determined advocates for Montreal.

In a significant announcement, Sauvé revealed Samah Khandker as his colister for the Sud-Ouest borough. This strategic move would enable Sauvé to serve as a city councillor even if he doesn’t secure the mayoral position, should Khandker win her election.

With 52 candidates nominated across 18 boroughs, Transition Montréal is gearing up to engage in upcoming leaders’ debates, setting the stage for a vibrant electoral season.

As voters prepare to head to the polls, the question remains: what key issues will shape their decisions?

Seth, a Plateau resident, stresses the need for enhanced support for local businesses, citing challenges hindering their growth. Antoine, residing downtown, calls for a reduction in summer construction projects to attract more tourists, while Zeid simply desires cleaner streets.

The official municipal campaign period commences on Sept. 19.
