Metro Vancouver Transit Police have apprehended three individuals following an altercation that ended with a woman being injured at a SkyTrain station in Burnaby.
According to authorities, the incident occurred at the Metrotown station just before noon last Friday when a physical confrontation ensued.
The victim, a 70-year-old woman, was slashed in the leg with a sharp object during the altercation, despite not being part of the initial dispute, as confirmed by MVTP.
Following the attack, the involved parties fled the scene, but two men and a woman have since been taken into custody. Police discovered two weapons in close proximity to the scene.
Constable Amanda Steed stated that there is no indication that the victim and the suspects had any prior connection.
Steed emphasized the impact of the violent incident on the woman, highlighting the importance of ensuring the safety of all transit passengers.
