“Vandal Strikes Again: Parkside’s Speed Camera Chopped Down for the Seventh Time in Under a Year!”

The city’s most lucrative speed camera on Parkside Drive was once again targeted by vandals, as it was cut down overnight. Toronto police are currently investigating the incident, marking the seventh time in less than a year that the camera has been vandalized. This latest act of vandalism follows the recent release of surveillance footage showing a shadowy figure using a step ladder and power tools to dismantle the camera.

Installed in the aftermath of a tragic multi-vehicle accident that claimed the lives of two seniors, the Parkside Drive speed camera has been instrumental in issuing over 69,000 tickets, totaling more than $7 million in fines. Despite numerous attempts to sabotage the camera, including being cut down twice in November and thrown into a nearby pond in December, the enforcement device continues to serve its purpose in promoting road safety.
