The seismic activity occurred about 200 kilometers west of Bella Bella, which is roughly 600 km northwest of Vancouver, shortly after 8 a.m. Fortunately, the tremor went unfelt, and there have been no reports of any damage. Both Earthquakes Canada and the United States Geological Survey confirmed the event, with the USGS measuring it at a slightly lower magnitude of 4.0. No tsunami threat was identified following the earthquake. The region experienced a major 7.8-magnitude earthquake on September 15, 2024, marking the most recent significant seismic event.
