A man has been apprehended by Durham Regional Police following a stabbing incident in Ajax on Friday, September 5th.
According to officials, the altercation took place at approximately 3:10 p.m. in the vicinity of Old Kingston Road and Elizabeth Street.
Reports suggest that the alleged assailant fled the scene on foot before law enforcement arrived, leaving behind a victim who had sustained a stab wound.
The injured individual was rushed to a trauma center in the Toronto area and is currently in stable condition. Authorities have indicated that both the victim and the suspect have an existing relationship.
Subsequent to thorough inquiries, law enforcement took into custody a 31-year-old male resident of Ajax. In order to safeguard the victim’s identity, the man’s name has been withheld.
The Ajax resident, aged 31, is facing charges of aggravated assault, possession of dangerous weapons, and assault with a weapon. He has been detained for a bail hearing.
