“Get Ready, Ontario! Minimum Wage to Increase This October!”

Next Month, Ontario’s Minimum Wage Set to Increase Again

Get ready, Ontario workers, because a minimum wage boost is on the horizon! Starting October 1, 2025, the minimum wage in Ontario will climb from $17.20 to $17.60 per hour. This change follows the announcement made earlier this year by the province.

Meanwhile, as of April 1, 2025, the federal minimum wage in Canada stands at $17.75 hourly. For those working full-time, this increase translates to an additional $835 in annual earnings, based on a 40-hour workweek, according to provincial sources.

The wage hike is pegged to the Ontario Consumer Price Index (CPI), which has seen a 2.4% increase. This adjustment will position Ontario’s minimum wage as the second-highest among Canadian provinces.

In recent years, Ontario’s minimum wage has steadily climbed, rising from $14 per hour in 2018 to the upcoming $17.60 in 2025.
