“Breaking: Suspect Seized Following Midnight Gunfire at Vaughan Residence”

An arrest has been made in connection with a shooting incident that occurred outside a home in Vaughan during the night, adding to a series of gun-related events in the vicinity.

York Regional Police received reports of shots fired close to Lady Angela Lane, in the Teston Road and Bathurst Street area, shortly before 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Although a firearm was discharged outside a residence, fortunately, there were no reported injuries.

The suspect attempted to flee the scene on foot but was swiftly captured, thanks to the quick response of additional officers already present in the area following previous shooting incidents. Patrol officers heard the gunshots and spotted the suspect running northward along a pathway. With the aid of a police dog, the alleged shooter was tracked down and taken into custody on Teston Road.

Authorities recovered a firearm at the location, ensuring there is currently no immediate danger to public safety. The investigation is ongoing, and a significant police presence remains in the area.

A neighbor informed CityNews that the occupants of the targeted home had recently moved in. CityNews also noted a vehicle nearby that seemed to have tried to drive through a fence towards Teston Road, potentially linked to the suspect.

The identity of the suspect has not been disclosed by the police, and it is unclear whether this incident is connected to previous shootings in the Vaughan area.

For anyone with information, York Regional Police are urging them to come forward and assist with the investigation.
