Impaired Truck Driver Triggers Dramatic Rollover Crash Near Deroche

A dump truck veered off the road into a ditch, leading to the driver’s immediate termination from his job due to suspicion of impairment. The incident occurred near Deroche on a Thursday afternoon, prompting a response from the BC Highway Patrol following witness reports.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found the driver unharmed but subjected him to a breath test, which yielded a “fail” result on the Approved Screening Device. Consequently, the driver is now confronting a 90-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition and other charges.

In a swift response, the driver’s supervisor terminated his employment on-site shortly after the mishap, underscoring the severity of the situation. Cpl.
