The Grouse Grind Trail in Metro Vancouver Reopens Early After Temporary Closure
Good news for hiking enthusiasts in Metro Vancouver as the temporary closure of the popular Grouse Grind trail in North Vancouver has officially ended ahead of schedule. Originally planned for a three-day closure due to safety concerns related to helicopter operations on the mountain, the trail is now back in action sooner than expected.
Metro Vancouver officials had announced the closure to facilitate the movement of materials and equipment for upcoming trail maintenance projects scheduled for the fall. However, after successfully completing the necessary work, the district announced on Thursday that the trail would reopen one day early, welcoming eager hikers back on Friday morning.
For those looking to tackle the challenging 2.5-kilometre trek with an elevation gain of approximately 800 metres, the Grouse Grind is now open daily from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. However, mark your calendars as the trail will undergo another closure from October 14 to November 7 for its annual maintenance routine.
