Montreal Police Investigate Two Vehicle Fires Destroying Multiple Cars
Montreal police (SPVM) had a bustling night dealing with two separate vehicle fires in the city. The first incident occurred when a 911 call reported a vehicle engulfed in flames in a parking lot near Calais Ave. on Côte-de-Liesse Expressway in Dorval around 12:10 a.m. Firefighters arrived to find the fire had spread to three vehicles, all of which were completely destroyed. Fortunately, there were no injuries or other damages reported. Surveillance footage led police to identify a suspect who fled the scene on foot.
In a second incident at approximately 2:05 a.m., another 911 call alerted authorities to a parked vehicle on fire in a lot near Edgemore Ave. on chemin Guelph in Cote-St.Luc. Firefighters swiftly contained the fire, but the vehicle was left in ruins. Once again, there were no injuries or additional property damage reported. Both cases have been handed over to the SPVM arson squad for further investigation at the sites this morning.
