Authorities apprehend suspect linked to fatal shooting at local business in Saint-Anselme
A suspect has been taken into custody by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) for his alleged involvement in a deadly shooting that took place at a business in Saint-Anselme, located in the Chaudière-Appalaches region.
According to the SQ’s official statement, no specific information regarding the arrest has been disclosed to the public.
The tragic incident unfolded on the evening of November 28, 2024, on Route Bégin at approximately 8 p.m. An armed individual reportedly entered the establishment, resulting in the death of a woman in her 30s and severe injuries to another woman in her 20s, before fleeing the scene on foot.
The identified suspect, 29-year-old Pascal Drouin, was brought before the court on the following day in connection with the violent episode. Drouin is currently facing charges of murder, attempted murder, and robbery.
