Tragic Accident Claims Life of Driver on Bonaventure Expressway
A fatal incident unfolded early Saturday morning on the Bonaventure Expressway in Montreal as a driver in his 40s tragically lost his life.
Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the site of the single-car crash near kilometre 3 of the eastbound highway around 4 a.m.
According to Laurie Avoine, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the driver reportedly collided with an impact attenuator, resulting in ejection from the vehicle. Initial reports suggest that the victim was driving alone.
The circumstances surrounding the accident remain unclear and are currently under investigation by the SQ.
Regrettably, the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. An expert from the SQ specializing in collision analysis was dispatched to the location to shed light on the incident. Traffic flow was disrupted for a period to facilitate the investigation, as mentioned by Avoine.
