A tragic incident occurred in Portneuf near Quebec City, resulting in the loss of two lives in a recent tractor accident.
On a Saturday afternoon around 4:15 p.m., emergency services rushed to Rue de la Rivière in this small community with a population of 3,500.
Initial reports suggest that the tractor, traveling north, unexpectedly veered off the road and collided with an oncoming vehicle, as detailed by Sûreté du Québec (SQ) spokesperson Laurie Avoine.
Tragically, the tractor driver, a 40-year-old man from Saint-Raymond, and the vehicle driver, a 71-year-old woman from Portneuf, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
A specialized police officer in collision investigation was summoned to analyze the incident and piece together the events leading up to the tragic collision.
The SQ’s comprehensive investigation into the accident is currently ongoing.
