Three Men Arrested in Connection with Brampton Shootings
Police in Peel Region have announced the arrest of three individuals from different parts of Canada in relation to two separate shooting incidents that occurred in Brampton this summer. The arrests were made following a thorough investigation that involved multiple jurisdictions across three provinces.
The incidents took place on July 10 and 11, with reports of gunfire at residences on Rolling Acres Drive near Mississauga Road. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the suspects fled the scene in a black Chrysler 300, which was later found in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on July 13.
After weeks of diligent investigation, Peel Regional Police officers apprehended the suspects. Husandeep Singh, 20, from Mississauga, was arrested on July 27 and charged with discharging a firearm with intent and extortion.
Gurpreet Singh, 23, who had no fixed address, was taken into custody in Winnipeg on Aug. 27 under a Canada-wide warrant. He is facing charges of discharging a firearm with intent and extortion.
Gurdeep Shergill, 26, from Delta, British Columbia, was arrested on Sept. 12 on a Canada-wide warrant and is charged with similar offenses.
All three individuals were held for bail hearings and appeared in a Brampton court.
While the motive behind the shootings has not been disclosed by the police, it has been confirmed that no injuries occurred during the incidents. The investigation is still ongoing.
