Quebec Teen Rescued in Brampton, Suspect Faces Human Trafficking Charges

A missing teenage girl from Quebec who was allegedly being trafficked for sexual exploitation has been found safe in Peel Region. Peel Regional Police, in collaboration with Longueuil Police, located the youth on September 10, a day after Quebec authorities informed them of her disappearance.

Following their investigation, authorities pinpointed a rental property in Brampton as a potential location tied to the case. Subsequently, on September 10, officers apprehended a man outside that residence. The missing girl was later located at a separate site and joyfully reunited with her family.

Further details reveal that the teenager had reportedly been trafficked in Quebec before being discovered in Peel Region. 24-year-old Nahom Teklahaymanot of St. Laurent, Quebec, is now facing various charges, including trafficking persons under 18 years old, procuring a person under 18 years old, advertising sexual services, receiving material benefits from sexual services, and possessing an imitation firearm while committing an offense. He remains in custody for a bail hearing in Brampton.

While the victim’s age has not been disclosed by the authorities, they have assured that the investigation is still ongoing.
